There are many proven Benefits:
We have witnessed the transformation and observed how a child develops essential resilience and communication skills, making the most of a consistent safe space that enhances understanding of self and builds confidence through creativity that is unlocked through the space Lego therapy provides.
Collaboration with Parents and carers:
We believe in the importance of collaboration between therapists, parents, carers, and our young individuals. Sessions are confidential, and review sessions are approximately every 6 weeks. The therapist will check in with the young person and the carer or parent to see how they are getting on, and if anything needs to be shared or explored together further.

Enhances Resilience
1 - 1 Lego Therapy Sessions
One-to-one Lego therapy sessions are slightly different to the typical group format. The young person and the therapist will start with 12 sessions, exploring thoughts, feelings, and topics on the mind whilst playing and building with Lego pieces. The sessions are led by the young person and are safe, non-judgmental and confidential.
Group Lego Therapy
Ideally for twelve weeks, with three children in a session filling three roles that aim to build communication and confidence skills, whilst all taking turns experiencing the value of each role.
Engineer — Uses plans to describe a construction and the bricks needed to build it
Supplier — Identifies the bricks described by the Engineer and hands them to the Builder
Builder — Uses the verbal instructions from the Engineer to assemble the construction
Flexible approach
Sessions can happen in school, or within an organised venue that is suitable. If this can't be arranged we have the option of using one of Essential Space's 10 therapy rooms. This gives us the option to meet during school hours or afterwards, meeting outside of the school setting.
Lego club
Lego Club is all about experiencing building play with other children and young people who all enjoy the task of construction. Clubs are running through school holidays and after school throughout the year. The therapeutic value is being with other like-minded individuals sharing this time, and building content minds in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Let's build a path to well-being together!
Meet Jenny, our Lego Therapy Project Lead
Lego Therapy is about connecting children with themselves if doing a session 1-1, or as a group with other children to support their interactions with each other through Lego play.
