What is counselling?

Counselling provides the opportunity to talk in confidence to someone who is trained to listen in a safe environment.  Counselling can help make sense of what you are feeling about situations or difficulties you are experiencing in your life.

Your counsellor will not give you advice, make decisions for you or make judgements about your situation. Their role is to meet you weekly and help you find out why you feel as you do, explore choices and support you to find a way forward that is right for you. You will work in a private, safe and confidential setting where you will be able to talk freely and openly about feelings which aren't always easy to talk about with family and friends.

Counselling at Essential Space can be long or short term, and you can review this at any point and end your counselling as and when you choose to.
